304 stainless steel pipe is made from an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel. The grade contains 18.0 to 20.0 percent chromium and 8.0 to 10.5 percent nickel according to the composition values listed below.
This combination gives the material useful corrosion resistance along with good forming and welding characteristics.
